The music on this strange record seems to have been intended for use in documentaries or TV shows about laboratories or bottling plants. There are tracks called "Fermentazione" and "Gocce di Vapore" ("Drops of Vapour"), but then again there is also "Sussiego," which the hand-typed insert translates as "Haughtiness." Maybe a film about a haughty beer brewer? I love to imagine all the various uses to which mood music like this was put by whatever key grip happened to be doubling as the sound guy on a given day.
have of everything of his i could find. huge favourite in this haushold. never seen this one tho & now i've heard at least one [?] supersweet track. fanx fer the tip
I always love to hear a bit of Boneschi I've not heard before. Thanks Ben (would love to hear the whole thing, though) ;))
Reminds me a little of the first volume of Ron Geesin's 'Electrosound' on KPM, although Ron's textures are a little less pure electronics and more electroacoustic in nature.
uh! this one sounds great! is there any chance to listen to the whole record? i'm following since a while and you always come up with such treasures, incredible - thank you so much & have a nice day!
Broadway is a nice italian library label, apparently relatively unknown. I have the luck to own several from this label, two with this cartoony cover (I'm guessing they are earlier, they don't have a date on them), the others with a very simple white cover with nothing but the title on it in a simple typography. There are several albums by Boneschi on it. "A normal day" is a great Boneschi one, hilarious title for rather far out music, nothing "normal" at all, with track titles like "terrorism" or "it's dangerous". Another Boneschi is "Musical Fantasy No. 4" with nice combinations of synth and folksy guitars. My favorite is the Goblin-esque "Musical Fantasy No. 1" though, by "The BRF Studio Group".
Hi dispo I've never heard for the album "A Normal Day" from G.Boneschi.Please can you tell me which code have that album...I mean on -Broadway BW 13....?- Thanks in advance
@josie: I posted pictures and sound snippets from Boneschi's "A Normal Day" here: http://dispokino.blogspot.com/2010/11/normal-day-giampiero-boneschi-group.html The record's catalogue number is BW 13091. It was a good excuse to finally start the blog I've been planning for a long time. Toys & Techniques was a big inspiration btw.
ANY CHANCE for a download link? so i mean...is like we are in the desert under killing hotness and you keep on appearing with a bottle of fresh water before disppearing again!
Wow!
ReplyDeleteAre you planning to allow us to download this album?
ReplyDeleteVery nice sounds. Like Litlgrey, I'd also appreciate a download link. Thanks for what you do here anyway.
ReplyDeleteGreat stuff Ben!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant - it reminds me of 'Science and Research' by A R Luciani, Giuliano Sorgini et al
