Watched
this last night. Elizabeth Taylor and Mia Farrow playing cat and mouse in a crazy Kensington art nouveau mansion. Great movie full of uncanny echoes and doublings from beyond the grave (Leonora resembles Cenci's deceased mother, Cenci Leonora's drowned daughter...) Plus I just love the name "Cenci." That long black wig!
Man, this looks great. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThat looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteCheck it out while it's still up on Youtube -- you guys would both love it.
ReplyDeleteI bought this based on your recommendation in an earlier post and loved it.
ReplyDeleteApart from the excellent story, the interior of Mia Farrow's house is mesmerising in the extreme.
Thanks again.
Cool. Hey I like yr blog.
ReplyDeleteA wonderfully atmospheric film - available on R2 DVD. I was delighted to finally get heold of it after a long wait. For another interesting, different and unusual Elizabeth Taylor film from the same era how about "The Driver's Seat, based on the novel by Muriel Spark ? Also a strange and disturbing film ...
ReplyDeleteThanks for the recommendation, Peter. Just found it on Youtube and you're right, it looks amazing! There's also "Boom," another Joseph Losey film with cool score by John Barry.
