Big thanks to Michael from
Stopping Off Place for sending me this yesterday. A 1973 short film based on Leo Lionni's
Swimmy. Casually amazing in the same way everything on Stopping Off Place always is. Go visit it right now! Don't get eaten by evil tuna.
This music/video, she is a work of nature beauty. Her sounds are create wonderful vibrations to my liking!
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful - thanks for posting - I particularly like the psychedelic freakout in the middle .
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, indeed! The music is mesmerising.
ReplyDeleteIf you like this check out the superlative 'Frederick' where imagination is stepped up a fair few notches. A masterpiece of a riotous rodent romp as our seemingly bone idle anti-hero stores cerebral necessities to get his mischief of mice through a tedious hibernation. Utter genius.
ReplyDeleteOr 'Fish Is Fish': here mutant animal creations seem incongruously non-menacing due to their daydream evolution in retina scorching primary colours.
that is incredible. ill be sharing this lots..
ReplyDeleteHere are links to the films mentioned above, plus a couple others:
ReplyDeleteFish is fish
Frederick
It's mine
Cornelius
These have all been compiled on DVD
Ah, 'It's Mine', more than a tad ironic that I forgot I have this one too. Prefer the time killing mice, though.
ReplyDeleteWhichever reel you choose, gorgeous animation all the way round.
this is great. one of my favorite books as a kid.
