Swimmy


Big thanks to Michael from Stopping Off Place for sending me this yesterday. A 1973 short film based on Leo Lionni's Swimmy. Casually amazing in the same way everything on Stopping Off Place always is. Go visit it right now! Don't get eaten by evil tuna.

    If you like this check out the superlative 'Frederick' where imagination is stepped up a fair few notches. A masterpiece of a riotous rodent romp as our seemingly bone idle anti-hero stores cerebral necessities to get his mischief of mice through a tedious hibernation. Utter genius.

    Or 'Fish Is Fish': here mutant animal creations seem incongruously non-menacing due to their daydream evolution in retina scorching primary colours.

    Ah, 'It's Mine', more than a tad ironic that I forgot I have this one too. Prefer the time killing mice, though.
