Italian journal Esso Rivista circa early 70s. I believe this is a trade magazine of Esso (as in Exxon oil), with the title also signifying as "It Magazine." All images ebay.it
These are great! As far as I understand with my poor italian, it was Esso's house organ indeed (existing from 1949-83), and they collaborated with artists for covers and inserts. There was an exhibition about it: http://www.fondazionemarch.org/collezione-esso With a catalogue: http://www.amazon.de/Raccolta-Darte-Esso-1949-1983-Biographies/dp/8837056877
Ah cool, looks great. I like the huge monolith in the middle of the exhibit. I guess Ford Motors had a similar house journal in the states, illustrated by Charley Harper.

ReplyDeleteAny idea who the artist of the second cover is?
ReplyDeleteHmmm, not sure, sorry.
ReplyDeleteRevisiting the page with the installation shots I just found out that the floor looks like an oil spill...
ReplyDeleteYeah, you're right. Cool. Looks liquidy.
